Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I think the follow-up book being set many years into a marriage with a couple stuck in the rut of school drop-offs, work and routine sounds more realistic. This is an ambitious and affecting novel and I don’t know how I missed all the hype about it when it first came out. Very quickly, the woman tells of her dissatisfaction with her brand new marriage.
